Fragmented Continuities

We are actively involved in conceiving and designing some design/sculptural structures, intended to be partially covered with mosaic, in the Digital Modeling course at the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli, Italy, in collaboration with the teacher of the third year mosaic course Serena Leonarduzzi. The educational purposes meet the possibility to develop a wide range of examples of using mosaic at the urban scale, to carry out both functional and not-functional works such as fountains, urban design objects, artistic installation. One point of reference is represented by the spherical surfaces, offering special problems with regards to their coating with two-dimensional drawings.
